FINAL SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 24th June 2010 (No extensions)

Contributions to a special Work-in-Progress (WiP) session of RTCSA'10 are sought. The RTCSA'10 WiP session will be devoted to the presentation of new and on-going research into real-time systems and applications. We are especially interested in new and creative ideas and approaches. Contributors to the WiP session will be asked to give a short presentation of their work and prepare a poster for the WiP discussion forum that will be held after the presentations. Accepted submissions will be included in a special RTCSA'10 WiP proceedings that will be distributed to all RTCSA'10 conference participants and available electronically from the Web.

The primary purpose of this session is to provide researchers with an opportunity to discuss their evolving ideas and gather feedback from the embedded and real-time community at large. Submissions dealing with all aspects of embedded and real-time issues are welcome. These include, but are not limited to:

EMBEDDED SYSTEMS:
- Software design and debugging for heterogeneous multi-core embedded platform
- Multi-thread programming for multi-core embedded platform
- System integration/collaboration for systems of embedded systems
- Operating systems and scheduling
- System-on-chip design
- HW/SW co-design
- Power/thermal-aware design issues
- Embedded multimedia applications
- Embedded system design practices
- Networks-on-chip design
- Embedded system architecture
- Design optimization (memory, performance etc.)

REAL-TIME SYSTEMS:

- Tools, infrastructures and architectures for ubiquitous computing
- Devices and enabling technologies for ubiquitous computing
- Applications of wireless sensor networks
- Ubiquitous computing applications
- User interfaces and interaction design issues for ubiquitous computing
- Privacy and security issues and implications of ubiquitous computing
- Location-dependent and context-aware computing
- Evaluation methods for ubiquitous computing devices, systems, and applications

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Submissions to RTCSA WiP should describe original on-going work. The material must be unpublished and not under submission elsewhere. The paper must be in the same format as in the final published proceedings (paper size 8.5" x 11", two-column format, font size 10). The layout should conform to the IEEE format for conference proceedings, (see the IEEE formatting guidelines http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting/ and must be limited to a maximum of four pages. Papers exceeding the maximum length will not be reviewed. Submissions should be made electronically, in PDF format only via the Submission Page for the RTCSA 2010 WiP Session.

By submitting a paper, the authors agree and confirm that: neither this paper nor a version close to it is under submission or will be submitted before notification by RTCSA WiP 2010, and if accepted, at least one author will provide a full registration by the special registration deadline set in the notification of acceptance, and present the paper at the conference in person.
